Testimonials

Clinical Doctorate Students – Southampton University

“I really liked the way the lecture was presented, good mix of videos and break out rooms. The learning objectives were clear and it was good to have a case study to bring it to life”

“Really good overview of the approach. Super practical tips (e.g. relational gestures) that could be integrated in to other ways of working beyond NVR, too”

“Well facilitated, information was well presented and a good mixture of learning and doing. Using a case study brought by a trainee throughout the lecture to apply the strategies learnt to clinical practice. Also the use of clinical examples by the lecturers”

Renfrewshire Council

I had enjoyed Level two very much to help me in my NVR development journey professionally in my work role and also as a parent. I found both Denise and Margaret explained there materials very well to fully understand and also enjoyed having guest participants as well to show how NVR has work for them.  I have become more confident in using NVR everyday with my work colleagues, Young people and families I work with as well as a parent having more positive relationships without feeling anxious. I am looking forward with my development process and looking forward in using NVR in groups settings as well as 1-1 to help people with resilience and managing positive relationships more effectively.

It was an excellent course and although nervous about ‘getting it right’! I really believe this approach can make a difference. thank you so much – you both have a lovely relaxed delivery and interaction that facilitates learning and knowledge. NVR will influence my practice at all levels.

From Havant

We have now rolled out the NVR programmes to families in Havant and are having a huge demand for the group work. Families are reporting really positive change in the home and have been sharing this with their schools and other parents… The staff I have had trained have really bought into the strategies and are keen to take this further in the district and we are planning on train the trainer for the future. It is a refreshing programme to offer parents which appears to meet their needs more than some of the regular programmes

Feedback from our recent training at Renfrewshire Council:

“This is a fantastic resource that I feel will massively help children and families. It should support families whose difficulties/needs fall between a range of services.”

“Absolutely loved the 3 days […] I can see the extent to which this could work in many families and hope this becomes a key resource for supporting any families in Renfrewshire across the coming years.”

“A very relevant course.  Lots of ideas and strategies to use not only in my professional career,  but also in my personal life.”

From our Doctorate course at the University of Southampton:

“Really interesting systemic approach – will definitely widen my thinking”

“Found the systemic mirroring exercise, really interesting.”

“Really engaging lecture that had practical implications for practice”
